The initiative for construction of a children centre in Romania, belong to Lions Club Bergen/Bergenhus, District 104D Norway and project for found rising was started in 1997. The Mogosoaia center has been supported by Lions Clubs International Foundation with US$ 75.000,- One year later, Norwegian Aid was chosen like partner for financing and running of the project, trough The Door Romania Foundation.

The construction started in March 1999 and includes a hexagonal form building, having two floors, and five wings along each side, prepared for medical assistance, class/study rooms, two bedroom wings, kitchen with tables’ room, the sixth side being for entrance. In the same year did constitute the Lions Club Mogosoaia, having like main purpose sustaining and supervising of the building.

	On 19 th of September 1999, the center was inaugurated by King Harald of Norway and Queen Sonia, having four children under care.

Today Mogosoaia Center has 26 kids, boys and girls, allocated by Child Protection Direction of Ilfov County, trough the decision of Commission, a kind of children court of social protection. They belonged to groups of: street children, abandoned and abused children, unweave or poor families. The center offer them all conditions for living and education, like in family.

For the great results in applying of our programs, county’s authorities declare the center “a model of work in favor of institutionalized children”.
